Brett's Pink Indoor Ironman Challenge

Story

 

Hi everyone,

On the 7th of March 2014, I will attempting to complete an Indoor Ironman, which

which comprise of 152 laps of the 25m pool, riding my bike on a stationary

trainer for 180kms and then finally, running the 42.195km on a treadmill.

 I have taken on this challenge, as a way to raise awareness for

the McGrath Foundation and also to support my Wife and Mother who are both

battling second Breast and Bone Cancer diagnosis.

In order to raise awareness, I intend to run the marathon component of this Ironman,

whilst wearing a pink tutu.

There will also be a sporting memorabilia auction taking place during

the Ironman event and the chance to join me in this journey, with simple

donations.

Every dollar makes a difference and your donation will help the McGrath Foundation place McGrath Breast Care Nurses in communities right across Australia, and to increase breast awareness in young Australian women. To date, we have placed 86 McGrath Breast Care Nurses across Australia, who together have helped support over 20,000 families experiencing breast cancer.

100% of all donations will be donated to the McGrath Foundation and you will automatically receive a tax-deductible via email.

The McGrath Foundation raises money to fund McGrath Breast Care Nurses in communities right across Australia. Our highly qualified nurses help individuals and their families experiencing breast cancer by providing physical, psychological and emotional support, for free.
From the time of diagnosis and throughout treatment, McGrath Breast Care Nurses are there to help. While over 110,000 families have been supported since 2005, more nurses are needed to meet the growing rate of breast cancer diagnosis in Australia.
