My story

I am a normal everyday person, a suburban mum with a wonderful husband, two kids, a dog, 2 cats, living a normal life, apart from the fact that a have breast cancer. Now this is unfortunately it not an uncommon thing now a days, one in 9 women will have breast cancer during their life and luckily it is one of the most common, treatable and most researched cancers in the world. The unusual thing is that my mum, my sister and my cousin have had breast cancer as well and all come out the other side. My cousin first, she has been cancer fee now for some time. My mum finished her treatment in July 2013 and is cancer free. My sister just finish radiotherapy in July this year. 

I started my treatment on 7th August and am determined to come out the other end.

To date, we have placed 87 McGrath Breast Care Nurses across Australia, who together have helped support over 21,000 families experiencing breast cancer.
