Cooktown to Kokoda

Story

Hi everyone,

Thanks for visiting our fundraising page!

In August 2014 we are embarking on an epic adventure, testing our endurance to the limit as we ride our mountain bikes 890kms from Cooktown to Cape York, Sea Kayak 160kms across the Torres Strait to Papua New Guinea and walk the 96kms of the Kokoda Trail. All in memory of Sue Murdoch who died tragically from breat cancer in 2006.

We are hoping to raise awareness amongst the indigenous and islander communities about the risks of breast cancer. We are raising funds in support of the McGrath Foundation

Every dollar makes a difference and your donation will help the McGrath Foundation place McGrath Breast Care Nurses in communities right across Australia, and to increase breast awareness in young Australian women. To date, the McGrath Foundation have placed 100 McGrath Breast Care Nurses across Australia, who together have helped support over 20,000 families experiencing breast cancer.

100% of all donations will be donated to the McGrath Foundation and you will automatically receive a tax-deductible receipt via email.

As they say at the McGrath Foundation, together, we can make a difference!

McGrath Foundation

The McGrath Foundation raises money to fund McGrath Breast Care Nurses in communities right across Australia. Our highly qualified nurses help individuals and their families experiencing breast cancer by providing physical, psychological and emotional support, for free.
From the time of diagnosis and throughout treatment, McGrath Breast Care Nurses are there to help. While over 110,000 families have been supported since 2005, more nurses are needed to meet the growing rate of breast cancer diagnosis in Australia.
With your help, no one misses out on care. Visit www.mcgrathfoundation.com.au to find out more.
